Brandi has always been surrounded by animals and can’t imagine life any other way! As a child growing up in the South, she spent endless hours on the family ranch helping tend to all the farm animals and hunting for wild critters to befriend. Even after moving to Boulder, Brandi still got to spend almost every summer and holiday on the ranch. After high school, she managed a local pet store for a while. When it finally came time to decide on a career, Brandi attended Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 1999, and has been working in the veterinary profession since 1998. After spending over 20 years as a CVT, Brandi has decided to turn her life long passion of caring for pets and pet sitting as a hobby into a new career. Her desire is to offer clients and their pets skilled nursing services in addition to pet sitting.

Whether she was riding her horse, befriending a barn cat, raising wild ducklings, training a pot belly pig, or exploring the Colorado wilderness with her dogs, Alice has always felt at home in the presence of animals. Her extensive experience includes management in animal welfare, veterinary medicine, and pet retail. Always having done pet sitting on the side, Alice is thrilled to make it her full time career. Alice lives in Erie and shares her home with three rescue cats, a sassy Chihuahua, and one incredibly sweet “tripawd” Shepherd mix.

THE CHARLIES

Alice’s Charlie was rescued from a reservation in New Mexico and was her first foster dog. He was 5 months old and almost completely feral when he arrived at the shelter where Alice was working. She devoted endless time, love and patience to his rehabilitation. After some time, Charlie began to trust and learn what it was like to be a happy, playful puppy. He was successfully placed in a very loving home and will forever hold an incredibly special place in Alice’s heart.

Brandi's Charlie, a Border Collie mix, is one of her current dogs. He was rescued from a farm where his mom, basically a puppy herself, abandoned her litter of 9 when he was only 4 weeks old. He and his brothers and sisters needed to be bottle fed until they could eat on their own.  Overwhelmed with the task, the family who owns the farm reached out for help to the vet clinic where Brandi was working at the time. Of course, Brandi couldn’t ignore the opportunity to help with a litter of puppies! Charlie was the sweetest and cuddliest of his litter, so when it came time to find his forever home, Brandi and her family decided that Charlie needed to stay with them. They knew it was meant to be. He filled the void left by the family cat who had tragically snuck outside and went missing. Charlie spends most of his time playing with his sister dog Coco, and visiting with the neighbors. When he isn’t busy outside, he enjoys snuggling with his mom in bed and playing tug-of-war with his dad.
